Just Write
Because sometime the hardest part of writing is starting.

Let's Go Back To The Beginning
Just Write started when D.A. Alston was working at the Boys and Girls Club as the Learning Center Coordinator. At that time she was promoting her 1st novel as well as writing her 2nd. Often times she came to work and shared ideas with her students which inspired them to want to write and tell their own stories.
The biggest problem D.A. discovered was that most kids didn't quite know where to begin when it came to writing. They may have had an idea but they didn't know how to execute it.
That's when Just Write came to be. Ms. Alston created a program with Boys and Girls Club as well as outside that would help all soon-to-be-authors start and finish their creative masterpieces.
Since then there have been two major Just Write events at the Calvin Center where over 40 kids gathered to learn about ways to become a better writer and tips to help them get over the writing hiccups.

We were so thankful to have speakers that talked about the importance of writing in music, expression and even how to pre-edit your work.
